How Ohnut Works
Ohnut is an intimate wearable that can help you manage and potentially reduce pain during sex by allowing you to easily customize how deep penetration goes.
Worn externally at the base of a penetrating partner (e.g. on their shaft or on a toy), Ohnut compresses down to act as a soft buffer during sex. Each set comes with 4 linking rings that allow you to make simple adjustments, so you and your partner can not only discover comfort but also what depths feel really good—for both of you.
Ohnut is designed to feel just like skin. It’s so comfortable (like a gentle hug) you and your partner will barely notice it’s there. BPA, phthalate, and latex free your Ohnut is made from FDA approved body-safe material.
Painful sex (or dyspareunia) can happen for a whole range of reasons, including:

How does Ohnut work?

What is Ohnut made of?
Ohnut is currently made of an FDA approved body- and skin-safe polymer blend. It’s a thermo-set material that is BPA-, phthalate-, silicone-, and latex-free.
Note about material: The original Ohnut was designed in silicone, which therefore made it incompatible with silicone lubrication. Silicone lubricants are generally recommended by the pelvic health / medical community for their long lasting quality (having to reapply water-based lubrication during a connected moment can be very disruptive). However, silicone lubrication will degrade silicone products, therefore we decided to adjust Ohnut's material to be easily integrated with medical recommendations. In regards to permeability, our manufacturing experts have informed us that, in general, most plastics are permeable, with the amount of permeability depending on what size molecule and under what pressure. Ohnut's material is not permeable with the amount of pressure applied during a couple's use. However, as a precautionary measure, we recommend that Ohnut is not shared between different partners. Our material is also not considered 'hygroscopic' (water absorbing).
How does it feel physically for the penetrating partner?
While Ohnut can be used by penetrating partners of any gender, feedback from those with penises includes not noticing the difference and feeling like full penetration, while also enjoying its additional use for foreplay. Some may feel a slight “hug” sensation. The majority report that sex is more satisfying because they're not as worried about causing their partner pain and their partner isn’t as worried about being in pain. This generally results in a feeling of confidence, of letting go with one another, of enjoyment. Does Ohnut come in different sizes?
Ohnut now comes in two sizes: Classic and Wider.
Classic: Designed for those who wear “Standard” or “regular” condoms; Lifestyles Snugger Fit, Slim Fit, or similar.
Wider: Designed for those who wear Trojan Magnum, Durex XXL, or similar. In comparison, the Wider Ohnut is 15% wider than the Classic Ohnut and stretches up to 50% more.
All Ohnuts are made with a soft material that stretches significantly for comfort.
Penetrating partner preference and size of origin may vary widely. So! If Ohnut feels too tight, store the rings wrapped around a water bottle that is 3” in diameter (also serves as a great drink koozie) for at least a couple of hours. This will temporarily stretch out the rings. Let us know how this works for you.
Will Ohnut fix the pain I have during penetrative sex?
If you feel discomfort at any time — speak up to your partner, take a break, and listen to your body. Ohnut is not a medical device and does not prevent or cure any conditions — so it’s a good idea to consult with your clinician. You may also consider visiting a pelvic floor physical therapist.
I recently had gender affirmation surgery (M to F). Can Ohnut help make sex more comfortable?
First of all, congratulations!! And yes, Ohnut can accompany pelvic floor physical therapy and/or dilator therapy for post-op gender reassignment surgery (M > F). Let us know if you have any other questions.

Using Ohnut
Can I use Ohnut with a condom?
Yes! You’ll just need to put the condom on prior to putting on your Ohnut. Be sure to use additional lubrication before sliding Ohnut on.
What kinds of lubrication can I use with Ohnut?
Lubrication is essential to the Ohnut experience (do not attempt use without it!). Since Ohnut is made from an FDA-approved family of polymers, it is compatible with both silicone based and water based lubrication. Oil based lubes are not recommended, including coconut oil, as they can degrade the material and cause your rings to tear.
Can I use coconut oil with Ohnut?
Coconut oil (or any oil-based lubricant) should not be used with Ohnut, as it can degrade the material and cause your rings to tear. We cannot replace damaged rings that have been used with oil-based lubricants. Water- and silicone-based lubricants are great, though!
How do I properly care for my Ohnut?
Make sure to store your Ohnut linked together in its bag between uses. Hand wash your Ohnut with mild soap and water after use and allow to air dry. Save your dishwasher for the dishes.

Is shipping discrete?
Yep! The shipping packaging for Ohnut will in fact be phenomenally boring, and for additional discretionary pleasure, the return address label won’t have 'Ohnut' written on it. It'll be coming from "Twenty Three Ventures."
What is your return policy?
Given the intimate nature of our product, we are only able to accept returns or offer refunds in the following circumstances:
- Manufacturing Defects: If Ohnut arrives damaged or defective, we will replace it at no charge - contact us here within 14 days for assistance.
- Unopened & Unused: If you wish to return an unopened and unused Ohnut, contact us here within 14 days of receipt and we will be happy to help you. Please include your order number and the email address you placed your order with. If approved for a return, a $12 return shipping and restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. Initial shipping charges are non-refundable.
Please note that we are unable to accept returns on orders shipped outside the United States under any circumstances.
If you wish to exchange an unopened and unused Ohnut for a different color or size, please contact us within 14 days of receipt and we’ll be happy to help you. Additional shipping charges may apply.
Due to the intimate nature of Ohnut, we’re unable to offer exchanges, returns, or refunds on opened or used products (except in the case of a manufacturing defect).
Please note that we are unable to offer exchanges on orders shipped outside the United States under any circumstances.
Does Ohnut come with a warranty?
Ohnut carries a 12 month warranty from date of purchase. With proper care, cleaning, and storage your Ohnut should be functional for approximately 2 years. If your Ohnut becomes dysfunctional within 12 months of purchase, please contact us for assistance. Be sure to include your order number in your message. Please note that using any oils or oil-based lubricant with Ohnut, including coconut oil, will void this warranty.
How do I cancel my order?
If you need to cancel or modify your order, please contact us as soon as possible and we will be happy to assist you further. Please note that orders can only be cancelled before they ship and therefore we cannot guarantee a cancelation will be possible. If your order cannot be canceled, you may request a return instead.
How long does shipping take?
Due to the current pandemic, shipping times are somewhat delayed, from anywhere to a few days to a few weeks. If you have questions about your order status we're happy to help. Please click here to contact us.
Generally, orders placed Monday-Friday before 2pm Pacific Time will ship the same day. Orders placed after that, over the weekend, or on a major holiday will ship the following Monday or next business day. For shipping within the United States, Ground shipping typically takes 3-5 business days to deliver. For international orders, shipping typically takes 7-10 business days but can be further delayed by customs. Please make sure to include your phone number when you checkout in case we need to contact you about the delivery of your order.
What is your international shipping policy?
Ohnut is international! We're proud to ship to over 195 countries from the United States. Our shipping fees include duties and taxes up front to speed up transit time (and so you don't have any surprise fees to receive your package). However, we do recommend that you review your country's import policies.
International shipping typically takes between 8-14 business days (an estimation is also provided at checkout). Please note that some delays may occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, we do not ship to the following countries:
